Phantom Knights

Well it's been a while....but as you can imagine it's been a very musical busy period....last weekend saw our last indoor music camp...soon be outdoors and definitely for the next camp weekend.
So...how have we all got on your asking....well...I am pleased to say...we received our music on time....we had good attendance (everyone loves a bit of MJ)...we had warm classrooms...and just as important... outstanding warm food at our camps (they do say an army marches on its stomach)....and finally an army of young uns who are really talented....love a challenge....and are hungry to win....so yes....show music complete....and all but a few bars here and there...all off by heart...these kids are really impressive...and after the official announcement that Phantom Knights will be competing in Premiere Class this season ( the top class of British Youth Marching Bands)...they have really....I would say stepped up a gear....BUT....what and how they are playing it....they have stepped it up three gears.....just last weekend...the mothers couldn't hold it back....floods of tears....and it's only the start of March....what will they be like come the first competition....suggest all supporters bring your brollies....this is going to be EPIC beyond belief.
As you maybe understand we don't want to give too much away and I really would love to tell you all about what we are doing....so....I am not even going to give you a snippet....all I can say....is you will have to turn up to watch and listen to the legendary Phantom Knights with thier 2019 performance of PK & MJ This is it, at the competition's we are participating in....watch this space for further information....venues and dates will be posted right here...including some very local competition's in our area.
I also need to remind you we are always on the lookout for new recruits, wether a seasoned experienced player or an 8 year old that maybe wants to try something just a little bit different....our Cadet corps meets every Tuesday evening between 1830 and 2000 where they can try to bang a drum...twinkle on a xylophone...dance like a princess...or blow a raspberry through a trumpet. We meet at Racemeadow primary school on carlyon road in Atherstone....even if your kids ain't interested....is it something you have always wanted to give a try ? Give us a shout...we could make your dream come true....or something else ticked off your bucket list....we always look forward to meeting new faces...and we are really friendly...honest 😊
I would finally just like to thank everyone for the last weekend...Clive for the great music you have written and for helping out when you can....to all the support staff for the fantastic job you are all doing behind the scenes and keeping us all fed and watered....to Carl for staying out of the way and letting us get on with it (our illustrious leader...who also cried at the weekend 😂).....to all the staff without whom this would all not gel together...an amazing job done by all...well done.....and finally to the kids....despite the sore and split lips...blistered fingers and heels...bumps and bruises and lack of sleep....you all soldiered on.... incredible....from all of us....a massive massive thank you and well done for all the hard work your putting in....we are proud of you all....and proud to be teaching you....BRING ON THE PREMIERSHIP..... announcement **** I will officially announce Phantom Knights have confirmed they will be competing at the Indoor Music Games bieng held in Nottingham **** Watch this space for further information on dates and venue....coming very soon.

What a year....right from the word go....I think one of the most rewarding for our Corp Director...he did seem very chuffed...so the end of the year seen us kick off with a music band camp and invite day which proved very successful...not only with the music progression....we then took part in our local rememberance parade....which was another very successful event and woke a little more interest in the band...this was followed by an appearance of the girls band and big teddy tombola at Atherstones amazing Dickens day...not only did this raise good funds for the corp but again woke even more interest in the corp...and I must say well done girls...you did us proud representing us all and look forward to working with you even more next year 😊....we then moved on to a very successful and enjoyable awards night where a drink or two where shared and many discussions had about the coming season...did I mention a drink or two...ok might have been more 😉....and we'll done once again to everyone....the next day was our final parade of the year with our annual appearance at Baddesley Lantern Parade...each year this seems to go from strength to strength with this year no exception... fantastic turnout well done to all involved...and finally we finished the year off (well nearly) with our last band camp of the year last weekend....what can I say....they are carrying on where they left off....already the music for our 2019 production
MJ & PK is sounding just awesome...hopefully we will have you dancing in the stands next year 😊...next Sunday will be our final rehearsal of 2018 finishing off one hell of a successful year why not pop down and see us and grab a Christmas Coffee...see the year out with a trip down the MJ memory lane...you won't be disappointed 😊...Just to finish off I would like to thank everyone who is involved with PK you have all helped us along this amazing journey this year and we wouldn't have been able to do it without your input and we certainly look forward to the next chapter in our beautiful story...we would also like to thank all the event organisers this year...you did a great job keeping the activity alive and long may it continue...to all competing bands and corps you all did fantastic this year and we look forward to seeing you in the coming season...and let's have a drink or two 😊...also the judges and everyone in the background of the BYBA organisation we thank you for your tireless efforts to keep us going and the support you show each and every single one of us....down to the last couple now phew.....A special mention most definitely must go out to our Corp director Carl and his fantastic wife Jo without whom none of this would even be possible...for helping us make these eternal memories we are all forever thankful....and finally....the staff and marching members of PK...what can I say...thank you isn't enough....what you all achieved and how you did it this year has left a lasting impression on my heart that I will carry with me for the rest of my life...for that I really thank you all....so it leaves me just to say from all at PK...we wish you all a very merry and happy Christmas and hoping you all have a very happy and successful new year...#PROUDKNIGHT#2018CHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONS
